Together with alderman Harry van Waveren, Bartels Groep and Adcim, we went to the SHIPP21 site to have a look at the preparatory works for the new access road.
For these works, it takes more than 40 ships fully loaded with sand. The supply of sand via the Oude Maas saves more than 2,000 truck journeys and therefore traffic movements in and around Puttershoek. Alderman Van Waveren is therefore very pleased with this solution: “Transport by water ensures less inconveniences for the neighbourhood. It saves a lot of freight traffic by road, especially for the residents of Rustenburgstraat. This way of transportation is not only better for the environment, it is also a lot safer.”
